Hi, I’m Lara, a product designer, and user-first thinker. Lovely to meet you. 👋🏼
Over a decade ago, I started my career as a graphic designer dabbling in different creative practices, before landing up as a UIUX practitioner in late 2018.
I unknot complicated things, and put a lot of elbow grease in my work — constantly strategising, distilling, doing and redoing, all in the pursuit of meaningful experiences. This is something I thoroughly enjoy and take pride in.
My approach is informed by the 4D design framework i.e. design is not so much a style, but a process of how one approaches problems. At its core, I subscribe to the Eames philosophy of wanting the best for the most for the least.
My past expertise…
Brand & Identity Design (5yrs+)
Mostly working with small to mid-sized businesses, I kick-started my career as a one-man studio, helping business owners build their brand stories and corporate identity guidelines.
Print & Editorial Design (2yrs+)
In my earlier days, I spent countless hours designing magazines, textbooks, collaterals, and everything print — this pretty much formed the foundation of my skills in typography, colour, and understanding of space.
Shopper Marketing (1yr+)
Working for my childhood hero brand LEGO, I gained precious shopper marketing experiences through designing BTL marketing materials, e-commerce comms, campaign guidelines and regional toolkits for in-store executions.
Outside of work…
I enjoy a good morning coffee routine, meaningful conversations, getting lost in new cities, multi-day treks, making things with my hands, and practicing mindfulness through yoga and gardening.
I also have a deep love for storytelling, and hold a soft spot for compelling films, TV, and roleplaying tabletop games (Shoutout to any DnD lovers and critters).
I believe in caring for the self first in order to do better with others. And in inspiring others to live out their fullest, we can create a pay-it-forward culture for a kinder and more collaborative community.
